One of a kind avant garde Landeaux coat from the 1980's made of a quilted bright red material, with gold trim. It has very unique sleeves with ruffles down the side, and it wraps in front to tie at the waist. There is a hidden pocket on the side. Landeaux made coats from a variety of interesting fabrics including bedspread fabric, of which this is reminiscent!
Designed by Roedean Landeaux for one of the high profile clients of Linda Friedman Schmidt's exclusive boutique "Lonia" in the 1980's.
Rodean Landeaux designed one-of-a-kind clothing for the celebrity customers and celebrity stylists who shopped at the store and for her own clients at her Greenwich Village boutique. Her clothes were regularly worn by high profile clients, and this red quilted avant garde coat is one of those pieces.
